Antoine Silverman has a versatile career in New York, as a recording and soloing violinist and a music contract and coordinator. In January, Antoine began a multi-country concert series as the violin soloist of Philip Glass’s 5-hour opera
Einstein On the Beach. In 2012, he will travel to Montpellier, London, Mexico City, Reggio-Emilia (Italy), Brooklyn, and Amsterdam as the title role of Einstein on stage, playing the solo violin part in Glass’s iconic score.

As a music coordinator and contractor, Antoine put together the orchestra for Bono and Edge’s recent musical
Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark, which just opened on Broadway in June 2011. He also contracted orchestras for the Major Motion Pictures The Tempest, Across the Universe, You Don’t Know Jack, The Beaver, Remember Me, Waitress, and the HBO series Boardwalk Empire, Mildred Pierce, and Showtime’s The Big C.

The son of a legendary folk guitarist and singer, Antoine Silverman was encouraged to take classical violin lessons at the age of three. By 5, he had discovered bluegrass as well, accompanying his father and playing fiddle contests throughout the eastern United States. By age 14 he began playing jazz and rock. In 1998, Antoine moved to Nashville to be active in bluegrass and country music. He recorded frequently there, with artists like Garth Brooks, Sixpence None the Richer and Ben Folds, and recorded his 2nd CD there, Blue Moods.

Antoine has recorded, soloed, contracted, and arranged music for legends such as Michael Jackson, Michel Legrand, Harry Connick, Kelli O’Hara, Evanescence, Garth Brooks, Moby, Steve Tyrell, Rod Stewart, Peter Murphy, Ben Folds, Dixie Chicks, Sheryl Crow, Lou Reed, Fall Out Boy, Dashboard Confessional, Lenny Kravitz, Audra McDonald and countless others. He has soloed with the Boston Pops. He has played concertmaster on Broadway in
Shrek, Spider-Man, Legally Blonde, Urban Cowboy, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, High Fidelity, The Green Bird, and Spitfire Grill.

Antoine has 2 solo records: Swing Shift, recorded in 1998 and Blue Moods, in 2001. He also has written 2 educational books, Step One: Play Violin and Fiddle Tunes, Basic and Beyond, the latter released by Warner Brothers.
